Explore a combination of traditional hand embroidery techniques together with Richard McVetis in this two-hour online workshop from STORE STORE at The Barbican, part of London Craft Week 2020.
During this online embroidery workshop you'll explore a combination of traditional hand embroidery techniques together with Richard McVetis - one of the leading contemporary hand embroidery artists in the UK today. You will explore the slowness and rhythms of hand stitching; the versatility and strengths of embroidery for drawing and mark-making; and the pleasure in having time to make. Richard will be demonstrating simple hand embroidery techniques, no knowledge of embroidery techniques are needed.
STORE STORE is an innovative London based community project which have teamed up with the Barbican to organise a series of online individual artistic workshops. Designed to explore new materials and processes, every day a different artist, architect or designer is invited to teach a new craft.
